📌 Experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk – 6‑Month Temp (Potential to Go Permanent!) – Northampton
Start Date: w/c 22nd June
Location: Northampton (easy public transport access + free on‑site parking)
Hours: 37.5 office hours Monday–Friday
Contract: 6‑month temporary role with the potential to become permanent
🔍 What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be working closely with the Accounts Assistant(your direct report), who in turn reports to the Financial Controller. Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing high‑volume purchase ledger invoices
- Matching, batching and coding invoices
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Creating and managing purchase orders
- Matching POs to invoices
- Handling supplier queries professionally and promptly
- Supporting with bank and account reconciliations
- Assisting with ad‑hoc finance tasks as needed
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have purchase ledger / accounts payable experience
- Are confident processing high‑volume invoices accurately
- Have strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software
- Communicate clearly and enjoy working in a small, supportive team
- Bring a proactive, can‑do attitude
- Can reliably commute to the Northampton office (public transport and parking both available)
- A friendly, finance team
- A 6‑month temporary role with potential to go permanent
