Assistant Accountant
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT-qualified accounting professional looking to broaden their experience and develop their career within a supportive finance environment. Whether you're already studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or considering taking that next step, you'll receive training and exposure to a wide range of accounting responsibilities.
Working closely with colleagues across the finance team, you'll gain hands-on experience across both transactional and month-end accounting activities. Your responsibilities will include supporting financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting and analysis, whilst helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function.
You'll become involved in:
- Preparing reconciliations, accruals and financial analysis to support monthly reporting
- Maintaining accurate financial records, including cash books, invoice processing and sales ledger activities
- Supporting the production of budgets, cost reports and profitability analysis
- Assisting with VAT-related duties, intercompany accounting and stock valuations
- Processing expenses, mileage claims and payment checks
- Contributing to profit and loss reporting and wider management information
- Providing support across the wider finance team when required
We're looking for someone who:
- Is AAT qualified
- May be studying, or interested in studying, towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent)
- Has previous experience within an accounting/ as an Assistant Accountant
- Possesses strong numerical and analytical skills
- Has good Excel skills and attention to detail
- Is organised, reliable and eager to learn
