Employing over 1,400 people across its operations, the Group is recognised as one of the UK's leading flour milling businesses and is now seeking an experienced Accountant to join its established finance team of 15.

The Role:
Are you an experienced Accountant with a strong background in producing monthly and management accounts, along with clear and meaningful reporting for senior stakeholders?
Whether you hold an ACA, ACC, CIMA or have built your expertise through hands-on experience, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll work closely with and support the Senior Accountant as part of a friendly, collaborative finance team.

Accountant
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and presenting management accounts
  • Producing the Profit & Loss account for the Group’s largest subsidiary, with turnover of approximately £250m
  • Completing Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Providing financial analysis and insight to support business decision-making
  • Supporting with quarter-end reporting
  • Managing VAT returns and supporting tax compliance
  • Supporting projects, including the implementation of a new fixed asset system
  • Reviewing processes and recommending improvements where appropriate
  • Preparing financial and management reports
  • Coding and processing invoices
  • Approving payment runs
  • Providing systems support and troubleshooting where required
  • Supporting other departments with financial guidance and information
  • Preparing National Statistics reports
The person:
You will be well suited to this role if you are:

  • Confident producing a full set of accounts
  • Strong in accounting principles and practice
  • Proactive, practical and solutions-focused
  • Accurate, organised and detail-focused
  • Structured in your approach to work
  • Confident using Excel
