Trainee Accounts Administrator - Credit Control Department
Warner Recruitment are super excited to be working with a local, friendly and financially stable business in Daventry in Northamptonshire. This is a brand-new role to support the Credit Control/ Sales Ledger department within the accounts team of 6. The company are looking for a Trainee Credit Control/ Sales Ledger Administration, ideally someone who has just finished their A Level's/ College course.
The successful candidate will ideally have an understanding of basic accounts /administration/ customer services; including sales ledger or data entry; and the job will give you the opportunity to study towards an Accounting qualification - AAT or equivalent (although not essential). No previous office work experience is required, they just need someone with a can-do attitude to work and excellent verbal and good written communication skills.
Trainee Credit Control Administrator
Daily inputting of payments received onto the system (BACS, cheques, card)
Correctly logging discounts where applicable
Maintain regular contact with Customers
Contacting customers to chase overdue payments
Working to targets to keep the companies overdue payments to a minimum
Sending statements/Reminder letter/Final letters to Customers monthly
Updating Customer Accounts
Maintain accurate records
Liaising with Internal & External Sales to discuss new business gained or any on-going queries that could delay payment, with a view to swift resolution
Joining monthly strategy meetings for each area
Review unallocated payments on a weekly basis, contact Customers where necessary to request remittance advices
Produce daily payment report to update customer status
Referral of any potential / significant problems to Credit Manager as soon as they become apparent
Referral of any overdue debts to 3rd party collection agency for possible legal action
Checking credit notes and dating to match outstanding invoices on Customer accounts prior to sending to Customers
Dealing with daily credit control emails
Review all breached credit limits
Opening new Customer accounts
Use of internet on new customer check post codes/web sites to determine correct information given
Keeping Customer Accounts accurate - change of addresses etc
Assisting with internal and external audits as required
Person:
The successful candidate will ideally have an understanding of basic accounts administration/ data entry/ customer services - although not essential
Potential to study an Accounting Qualification - AAT or equivalent, although not essential
Live locally to Daventry, Northamptonshire
Recent A level (or equivalent)/ College leaver
Work experience from shop work/ warehouse work/ bar work or equivalent
Can do attitude to work
A Level/ College leaver or equivalent
Good communicator
Able to work on your own initiative
Able to speak with many senior people across the business to gather information which will be essential for this role
Salary £18,000 - £22,000 depending on experience
